I'm trying to figure out this W/VA thing and was reading up on it HERE, which says "de-facto standard in the industry that the Watt rating is approximately 60% of the VA rating for small UPS systems". So if I had a pc with a 1KW PSU and had that, and only that plugged into a 1200VA UPS, then I would be exceeding the 60% rating of the 1200VA UPS which is 720VA and thus would not power the load.. I'd need at least a 1800VA UPS. Am I getting this right? If not some clarification would help.

Thx

You would figure based on your actual power draw not your capacity on the PSU. Also your nonlinear loading impact on the UPS will be dependant on whether or not your PSU has APFC.
