Ok got some specs from a vendor and the recommend a 1GHZ nvida video card

As far as I know the only video cards on the market currently that have a 1GHZ clock or mem speed are the ATI x800 and x850

Right or wrong...

The 6600 GT and the 6800 GT have 1,000 mem clocks and the 6800 Ultra has a 1,100 mem clock.

Not all the X800 cards have 1,000Mhz memory.

The X800 XT-PE, X850 XT, X850 XT-PE and the X800 XT all have 1,000Mhz memory.

What do you need this video card for? How much are you willing to spend? Is your motherboard pci-e or agp.

It sounds like you aren't very knowledgeable about the video card market, I may be wrong and if so I am sorry. I am just trying to help you best I can by gathering info and then we can recommend something for you.

That's almost as good as specifying what card you need based on the amount of memory it has.

WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST SAY "Geforce 3/Radeon 8500 or better"?

...of course, the companies aren't really helping by selling things like the GF4mx and the Radeon 9200se.

I'm tired of peopel calling 500mhz DDr anything 1ghz. It is'tn. It's 500MHz. It does instructions on both the up and down cureve, but its still 500MHz. Just like intels 800mhz bus is 2x (2 chanel) 2x (ddr) 200mhz. bugs the crap out of me.
