19inch trinitron having problems

every now and then my good old trinitron makes one big flicker. it usually resets the convergence and geometry back to defaults...or just changes them so everything is blurry. this time it didn't only do that. it made the whole screen purple! ahhh right now! what's wrong? i think i hit the desk when it happened so naturally i checked all connections. wiggled and replugged. nothing. i'm waiting for the warm up so i can do color return. is my crt finally dying?

color return just worked...thought it would take another 30 minutes to try. is this the sign of a dying monitor?

how often does it happen?

Also, does it suffer from any other bad issues? For example, is the convergence still okay (with tweaking, of course)? Can the color be tuned so that it looks natural?

As long as it can still be adjusted to look fine then I think it's okay...I really wonder what's causing it to randomly do that, though.

i don't know much about the internals of a crt...but it seems when i kick my desk, the monitor might screw up (as if something was moved or disconnected...)

everything can be set back to normal, but i have to do it more frequently now. once a year vs once every few months.
