Guys, I was just at Microcenter at Fairfax, VA and got the D0 stepping I7 920 for 199! I can't post on the [H]ot deals forum, so I'm posting here in case anyone wants to take advantage of it.
 
Im not sure of the other differences but it has been reported they do not overclock as well.

My C0 is only overclocking to 3.2Ghz... on a Zalman 9900LED. Temps don't get above 65 degrees Celsius, yet Prime 95 will restart my system at anything not stock and/or dummy Overclock. I'm a dummy when it comes to overclocking the i7's, so don't take my word for it...

If you can list your settings, we can probably figure out how to get you a higher overclock. The board itself should be good for a 185MHz+ BCLK which will give you at least 3.7GHz or better. My Core i7 920 C0 runs flawlessly at 4.2GHz using only air cooling.

Whether a D0 is worth it or not, see my sig. Basically d0 allows you to run the same clock rates c0s are capable of, just with less voltage. Heat appear to be the same however. For 200 bucks that's a steal - I paid nearly 300 for mine.

You're right. It seems someone needs to toy with some voltages and memory speeds :p
 
Damn, I just picked up a C0 at Microcenter for 230 less than a week ago. Just my luck. :(

Edit: BTW, what's the pack date on your D0?
 
I ran my C0 at 4.0 ghz on air, but put it back to 3.6-3.8 since there was hardly any improvement at all in FSX. No issues at all so far (knock on wood).

Why take it back to a lower clock speed if it worked fine at 4.0?

Thanks for the heads up. I've wanted to make the upgrade to an i7 and now appears to be a good time for that :D

Perhaps it was running too hot or at too high of a voltage.

I lowered my speed from 4 GHz (20x200) to 3.8 GHz because I could lower the voltage from 1.344v to 1.248v, respectively. Also allowed me to enable HT.
 
I went to MC in Columbus, OH yesterday and picked up an i7 920. The one they gave me was a D0, so I didn't have to bother asking them to search for one. Now I'm just waiting for my mobo and memory to arrive so that I can give this baby a shot. Definitely a great deal!
