Its like when Zellers here went out of business and started selling shovels for at a massive discount of 80% for $20. There is no way in hell I believe the shovel was originally $100.

Same as tv's.. small 32" tv's were priced at $329, regular 500+.

MSRP for the 8700k is $350, not $499, so where they get the $499 price from I have no idea, and MC ALWAYS has CPU deals and combo deals, MC is always the best place to get CPU/mobo from as this $299 is quite normal pricing from them. As I remember seeing this almost from launch from MC, as MC uses CPUs as a loss leader to get people in the store to buy other parts. Has nothing to do with Intel, but rather MC's way of marketing.
