It seems like the AGP 1950 cards have alot of problems, would it be better to buy a AGP 7950 card. I see they just abit slower, but are problem free, it seems like a good trade-off..

What problems are you talking about?
The only issue ive had was that I cant overclock it very easly. Other than that, it has run jsut fine for me. It powers through any game ive tossed at it. Card quite easly overdose my pc. But that is soon to change with a c2d

I've got to agree with rasper.... the x1950 cards don't o/c for shit, but other than that, I have had zero problems with mine, and overall I'm very happy with it.

Could you be a little more specific about these "problems"?

Major artifacts and crashing, that may or may not be due to overheating .
Reading hundreds if not thousands of posts on these and many more types of problems..
I'm just worried about it, cause if that is all true, who needs that !
Is the new 7950gt a better card for me ?

Welll..... if you have to get a new card. I know tiger direct has a 8800 gts 320 mb for only $270. that would be a better card than the 7950.

I havent heard of these problems crashing unless! you are trying to overclock it. It runs jsut fine at its stock clocks for me.

Out of curiosity, why did you pick that screen name?

Thanks for catching that. I was just about to post the below, but I was going to wait until he said something inflamatory.....

Just a heads-up people. I have a some kind of psychotic stalking me now. He was originally banned on Guru3D for Trolling a 1000 post X1950 Pro thread. His name on Guru3D was Guruboy. He recently joined Toms Hardware under my username on March 31st, linked to my posts, and added his own ridiculous/moronic comments to them. He even took my signature from OverclockersUK Forum and copied it. I joined Toms Hardware under the username I_AM_Hosetjohn just to report him. He's probably been banned by now or at least I hope so.

So pay attention to the users post count. I'm classified as Limp Gawd. The _honestjohn here is a noobie. If you find him insulting or trying to stir up trouble, report his posts immediately. Right now he's playing it cool. It won't be long till he shows his true colors........see the thread below on Toms Hardware ......

I reported him anyways for basically stealing your username. He'll be taken care of I'm sure.

^^ Kinda had the hunch it was a troll..

eh oh well, time for the mods to delete the thread. :)

Wish I could, but I'm still using AGP.
