193P or 2001FP

Ok, so I am torn between two awesome lcd's. What do you think that I should go with and why? They Samsung 193p or the Dell 2001FP. They are almost the exact same price (newegg just lowered the samsung) Or if you have another suggestion for that price range, let me know. I like the looks of the Samsung better, but the stats of the Dell better. Help me decide.

i think i went review hunting on the samsung LCD. and they werent to good. The main gripes - as usual. was the game performance and ghosting in unreal touney 2k4.

the dell LCD is great. the reviews are pretty good. The games run fine, even though some do show small slow downs and its great for video watching.I am ordering one myself. Infact iam on hold with a dum dell rep. trying to get free 2nd day shipping from them.

Have no experience with the 193P but I love my 2001FP. Was a 21" CRT man for a long time but this Dell converted me Nothing but praise here.

what they call "limited supply" is their massive end of quarter selling blitz. Dell's business structure deals with having no inventory. It is just the upshot of sales that's causing your 2001fp to be delayed.

one more thing, calling and talking to a sales rep will ALWAYS get you a lower price than the advertised one, just be persuasive

ya, my next "calling to rep" will be for speakeasy. They are giving two free months trial, i want to try to make it three and not pay for equipment or get them to lower the price on their 1.5/256 plan. i am tired of my RR account. 600KB DL/45 KB UL

Well, the person who said they went "review hunting on the samsung LCD. and they werent to good" must NOT have found any reviews on the Samsung 193P. I have a 193P and I have NOT experienced ANY ghosting. My 193P works flawlessly and without ghosting in Joint Operations, Battlefield Vietnam, America's Army and UT 2004.

I had considered the 2001fp before I bought my 193P, but after reading about the "screen door" effect of the 2001fp that a lot of users were posting about, I decided on the Samsung. For me, it was the right choice

Just got my 193P.

An absolute miracle compared to the my old CRT. Ghosting/blurring is there, but it isnt huge nor does it bother me.

I love this thing, I love its looks, I love its picture, I love everything about it.

Never seen the dell though

Anything else: 193P

2001FP has 193P beat for response time, 193P has it beat for color. People claim that after calibration, the 2001FP is just as good, but they're not really hard graphic designers and notice that the colors on the 2001FP is more dull.

lphatlanta did a very good review on those two exact monitors (i.e. use the search function), so check those out.

chronic9 did no "review hunting" as the reviews that I saw for the 193P were very good and praised it as one of the superior 4:3 LCDs.
