Im thinking my GTS 250/1GB isnt enough?

I started playing Street Fight4, World in Conflict RTS and Crysis. But Im getting tearing on cut scenes, some game play.

When I tryed the Street Fight Benchmark I got this:

1.(got tearing) 1920x1200_60Hz w/ 2xAA, FPS_45.23 and a score of 5856

2.(no tearing) 1920x1200_59Hz no AA, FPS_59.71, score 8752

3.1280x720_60Hz no AA, FPS_59.46, score 9288

whats up, or should I get better than 59 FPS with AA but I wasnt even using AA.

GPU never got over 58 C

Do you have the latest drivers?

Some people in the SF4 benchmark thread reported large performance gains when they updated to the latest drivers.

Try enabling v-sync for your tearing issues. SF4 isnt all that demanding however WiC and Crysis at 1920x1200 will certainly struggle on a GTS250

if youre getting close to the same results at 1920 x 1200 and 1280 x 720, i think it's cause your cpu is bottlenecking the GTS250.

what are the rest of your specs (mainly cpu) and is your cpu overclocked? if so, to what speed?

Forget Crysis. No single card will get you 60+ FPS constantly.

Maybe three high end cards will though; Tri-Fire, or Tri-SLI.

Im thinking its the CPU also.

I set my Q6600 to:
x9.0
333.0Mhz
1332.0Mhz

Its at 3.0ghz

Set to 5-5-5-15 at 2.0v(499.5mhz)

Updated to 186 driver and the Benchmark did run lots smoother but still had tearing when i enabled AA.

1920x1200_60(refresh)no AA, FPS_59.9 score_8743 and before I couldnt do 60 refresh, had to use 59Hz

I had Vsink on too.

Ive been seriously thinking about an i7 rebuild.

I can only use Single GPU's, not x2 or SLI's, Adobe, Maya, Blender dont do well.

If I did do a Rebuild, would ya reuse the GTS250 or get a GTX285/1GB?

Not sure if it fully applies, but i just noticed that i have the 250gts (512mb) and close mobo to yours and same psu and etc, and at 1920x1080 on my Vizio 1080P 32inch i get 60fps on COD4 with all settings at their highest.

if you can bump your cpu to 3.4 or 3.6, then retry your tests you will see if you are bottlenecking that card.

personally I would bump your cpu up and call it a day, then look at a gtx 260/4870 card.. forget an entire rebuild right now; your cpu is still quite powerful

JacobC1983 makes a good point you may want to try and OC you chip into the 3.4 - 3.8 range this should help minimize any bottleneck issues. To esure high res gaming you will need to upgrade your GPU. I would suggest either a 260 or a 285 just depends on how much money you want to spend the 4870 and 4890 also are great cards just depends on your price point and which driver stack you favor.

Thanks guys!

But Ive been looking at an i7 for awhile, that HT Quadcore is really looking good foe Maya. The 285 looks good.

And i dont want to put any more money in this one.......................

thanks,
