1920x1080 on a 16:10 Display

The only part of Dark Messiah that doesn't properly support 16:10 is the cinematics. According to the detailed WSGF report, the pre-rendered cut scenes have streching, and "The binks are 1280x720 source FYI." Since the rest of the game supports 16:10 properly, you might just have to put up with the cinematics being not quite right.

Oh, have you set a custom resolution in the nVidia control panel? I always forget to do that.

It was already set to 'Use Display's Built-in Scaling', but I set it to 'Do Not Scale' and the picture was still retarded. :(

yes that is retarded :(

with that option set pixels should be 1:1 no stretching.

I want Xana!!!!!! She's the hottest chick I've seen in a video game since Aida in Unreal 2. :D

Perhaps you should let the graphic card scale it to 1:1.
If the monitor doesn't support 1:1 mapping of 1920x1080 theres not much you can do but let the graphic card handle it.

You must also set it to maintain aspect ratio or map it 1:1.
If that doesn't work then it's most likely the game thats the culprit.

You need to add 1080p as a custom resolution using the CVT reduced blanking standard, otherwise it exceeds the bandwidth of single-link DVI.

It looked fine on the desktop (properly letterboxed, and perfectly sharp etc.), but the monitor's OSD still reports '1920x1200'. However, when I opened a game and set 1920x1080, the letterboxing stopped working. The monitor still thought it was 1920x1200, so I couldn't use it's own scaling options in 'Image management'.

Of course the monitor says it's getting 1920x1200, the graphic card is scaling whatever you choose to 1920x1200.

So when scaling 1920x1080 with maintained aspect ratio or 1:1 the graphic card add black bars to your image so that it will be 1920x1200 before sending it to the monitor.

So monitor is left out of the equation. Either you are doing something wrong in the nvidia cp or the game manages to choose the resolution in another way (I don't have an nvidia card so it's hard to imagine how it might look) or theres a bug somewhere.

When using graphic card scaling theres nothing the monitor can do about it.
