i just got my new 1900xt today. i went into CCC and looked at the video card information. it said that i had core clock of 500 and a memory clock of ... 520 or something. i thought that was odd so i uninstalled then reinstalled drivers and now the CCC dont show up at all. i thought that was strange. well anyway i went and downloaded ati tool to see if it would see what my clocks are and that doesnt even detect them. heres the log of what it had.

it says i have 8 pipelines and 64bit memory lol. all i really want is my hardware to be the right hardware. i had some hard drive trouble last week so im kinda like... what now!? either way i can get it replaced if this is not a 1900xt. im just wondering if im missing something? or doing something wrong. ive never had this type of a problem. thank you for your help and time.

I would say it must be some sort of bug, you should try the newer ATITool, 25 beta 14. Odd on how it says the correct mem size. go and try the new beta ATITool, let us know how it all works out.

Something is screwed up there...easiest thing would be to RMA, though I'm sure the problem is something really trivial. If you're willing to play around with it, try reinstalling all the drivers, updating all drivers [including motherboard] et cetera. If you don't want to be bothered, just ask for an RMA.

I think this is something to do with the 2d/3d settings.
in 2d my card runs at 500 core and 594 mem
dunno about the pipes, but i think if you had only 8 pipes you would be getting serious performance issues in your games.

thanks for the replies, im willing to mess around with this for a bit. do you think i got some sort of odd bios bug? right now ive installed the drivers about 4 times. each time uninstalling with driver cleaner. the drivers just do not want to show up on my computer now. i right click on desktop, go to properties, settings, then advanced. NOTHING! shows up. its like i dont have drivers installed... although my GUI looks as if it does. games play fine. i dont know, everything is as if its correct but... hmmm it just seems sketchy.

HOOo okay update but not really an update. i got the drivers to work finally. im gonna mess with it a bit and see if ati tool works.

wait... thats what im getting, i just checked it again and i have 594mem. so is it not just me? i agree on the 8 pipes thing. i tried playing counter strike on full settings. something my 850 couldnt easily do without video lag. it ran flawless, if i had 8 pipes then it wouldnt run very good. ATI Tool still shows up with nothing about the card. im gonna download a nother version as Fistandantilis suggested.

i just installed the ATI Tool 0.25 Beta 14. all the correct info shows up now except for the gpu clock and mem clock. it shows 500 core and 600 mem? is that right? shouldnt the core be about 625?

ATI tool does not play nice with the X1900s. Theres nothing wrong with your card

As stated before its the 2d and 3d settings.
Dont worry about it, your card is fine ;)

thanks a lot guys. haha i didnt know that >.<

well i guess its a false alarm. thanks again for your help.

Ugh!!! Why do people say " it's easiest to rma."??? It's obvious his problem is driver or registry related. A rma would not solve that problem...

It should say 500/600, they all do. That IS the 2D clock setting on X1900 cards. The dirver senses 3D fullscreen mode and kicks it up to the rated speeds when your playing games.

This is what 3d marks is good for. Find someone with a simular rig compare your scores. And check if this error is screwing perfomance. CSS is a cheap game the source engine runs smooth on DX7 cards.
