I've been looking to replace my CRT and LCD monitors for a long time. I have a 19" CRT, 17" CRT and a 15" LCD.

I run the 19" CRT at 1280x1024 usually, the 17" CRT at 1024x768 and the 15" LCD at 1024x768.

I have wanted the 200fp 20" LCD since it came out, nearly bought it last December but didn't. I put the screen replacements on the backburner but have again decided to replace my CRTs and LCD.

I really want the 20" LCD and would like all of the screen real estate available (1600x1200) but I am concerned that the screen pixels would be too small and thus the text as well. I have pretty poor uncorrected vison, however my corrected vision is 20/20 but I don't want to strain my eyes. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer.

I was thinking then to order a 19" LCD, but I am still not able to make the decesion because I really do want the higher resoultion screen but am not sure.

I'm sure others have had the same situation and thought it through so I am wondering if anyone can offer their input.

Also I really am looking for a picture of a 19" and 20" LCD both at their native resoultion side by side if possible. If someone can post a picture that would be great.

Grab a 20" monitor and run it at 1600x1200, and if you're having troubles reading text, knock up the DPI a bit and you'll get larger fonts. :)

Thanks. I was concerned with everything being tiny though. Does anyone have access to a 19" and 20" LCD and if they do could they post a pic of them side by side?

I bought a 20.1inch VP201b about 2 weeks ago, and its perfect, my mom doesnt have very good eyes and she was on here surfin the web last night just fine, u can always make the font bigger too. and its pretty good at non native res if u want to run at 1280x1024, if about $800 is in ur budget then this wouldnt be a bad choice.
 
I agree with Martin64. not only with a 20in display give you a little more display area, but if the fonts or icons are to small you can always kick up the DPI in the display proprieties.

This is a 21.3 and a 19.2 side by side...it's a shitty pic, but it will give you an idea. The left one is at 1600x1200 and the rights is 1280x1024
