19 inch wide screen question

[kevinf]

i am planning to get a 19 inch widescreen lcd one day. my question is if the 19 inch widescreen would be compatible with games, if not then how do i fix that. should i get 19 inch widescreen or standard ratio. i can't go up to 20 inch

Most 19" wide screens have a native resolution of 1440x900. Make sure your video card can handle that resolution, or look at using PowerStrip http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/ps.shtm

A lot of the newer games support this and other widescreen resolutions, but not all by any means.

A few that do support it are: Half Life2, Call of Duty2, BF2 (sort of). Check this site for the best information on widescreen gaming: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

I just went from a regular 19" CRT to a 19" widescreen, and I wouldn't go back at this point. I love the extra space for web browsing, etc.

Good luck,

Rob
