Hello, im looking at 19" LCDs right now and the Acer and BenQ seem to be well within my desired price range.

This one.. Acer AL1916AB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824009078 posted at techbargains seems pretty good.

this one.. BenQ FP91G+
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014090
Based on all those reviews seems pretty decent also.

If I knew where to find reviews, I wouldn't post the question here... I like to do a random good price and stab style but if I can get some good opinions that wont be bad either.

Thank you.

Bless you good sir. I was debating these two very models (along with a few more) the other day. Count me as a member who wants to know how these compare. Based soley on Number of user ratings the BenQ seems "better." BenQ also supports both DVI + Analog, where-as the acer only has Analog. *Shrugs*

I would like to add the question of:
1) Within these two which is better for gaming (Guild Wars, WoW, the occassional FPS)
1a) Playback during Movies?
2) Colors (Black)? Vibrants, dull, in-need-of-adjusting?
3) Any known issues with backlight bleeding?
4) Text -- Crisp, Sharp, Dull, blurred?

*Friendly Bump*
Paycheck for about 1K is rolling in soon, so I'd like to know, BenQ or another. My Price range is if the 200-250 range.

Both are 8ms TN panels. The Acer advertises slightly better brightness, contrast, and viewing angles, but only has a VGA input. The BenQ has both VGA and DVI - that would tip the scales in the BenQ's favor for me, since you get a lot better input quality on DVI.

TN and a few cheaper MVA panels are pretty much all you'll find in that price category... and since I have a distaste for TN panels, that's about as much as I can offer you. ;) If you're curious about the specifications of different screens, I find that prad.de is a great resource: http://prad.de/en/guide/hersteller_start.html
