I'm looking to buy a 19" LCD, and stumbled accross this one. I live in Japan, so I'm guessing this isn't out anywhere else yet... it's called the Mitsubishi Diamondcrysta RDT195S. It has an 8ms response time, and costs around $700. It's way over my planned budget, but it seemed too good to be true... has anyone heard of it, or other 19" 8ms LCDs, for that matter?

Here's the info (in Japanese only)

Thanks!

well, right now you can have a Benq 19" 8ms LCD or a Hyundai 19" 8ms LCD ...

just choose :) I think Hyundai is better with highter contrast ration ( 700:1 ) and higher viewing angles.

Where can you buy either of those in the USA? I've been looking and haven't found a place selling the Hyundai L90D+.
:(

Remember that manufacturers dont do any set standard of tests and make their reported specs biased intheir favor. ALSO response time is the measure of the time it take to go from black to white, and then is DOUBLED (in other words, black to white to black again). This company may be using the specs going from only black to white, unline most companies. 16ms is a much more common response time, and I am sure that someone would have heard of an 8ms resposne time being possible if it truly were right now.

8ms TFTs are known to people, they're only just coming out now.

Anyone know where to get either of these in the USA?

Hyundai L90D+ [8ms] (this is the one I'm aiming for)
BenQ FP937s [12ms]

Also, which 19" model BenQ is 8ms? The 937s is suppose to be 12ms.

Has anyone used the BenQ FP937S before? How is it? Do BenQ products last for a while?

I'm just interested because I'm planning on purchasing an LCD monitor soon. I was planning on the Samsung 710T, but now that I've seen this, it's hard to judge with the DVI inputs, 19 inches and just about the same price...

i also have a benq lcd monitor, the fp767. they were the first company to have a 16ms response time lcd monitor i think.

i have a 710t and i love it. That respnse time sounds to good to be true but even if it was i wouldent buy it becasue of the fact that 19" lcd's have the same max res as a 17" (1280x1024). the price is another issue i would rather pay the $419 for my 710t than $700 bucks for a display with the same res. i dont think that the alleged 4 ms is worth $300, but hey if you can afford it than go for it.

ok, yeah, it bigger so freakin what, im just trying to support my purchase disicion (huddles in corner and starts to cry and wish for bigger lcd) :D

The benq 937s is on a big plane with fedex painted on its side right now headed for my house. :)

I bought it over at www.buy.com

From what I hear benq is a large european company just starting out in the us.

Can you please give us a review when you get ti up and running? Many have said they loved the monitor, while a few said it's not so good.

Thanks

Will do,

This will be my first lcd, does anyone have good optimizations for lcds? Also I've heard that most lcds run better at 60 hertz?

Yeah I don't know why it isn't on the US site. I'm from the UK so looked on the UK site first.

Is this 8ms BenQ FP937s+ out anywhere in the USA/UK? I can't find a place that has it.

BenQ is a retail products division of Taiwanese computer giant Acer designed to give them an image upgrade in the marketplace. They rolled out this division in Europe first and are now expanding to North America. BenQ is the OEM supplier for most of the Dell LCD products.
