What LCD monitor should I get if it is a 19" and no more than 220$? What about a 22" LCD?(Any except the outrageously priced, 700$ etc)
I'm a gamer and also wanting to view uber sweet movies and stuff. So yea, contrast ratio and no blurrin' is a must. No bleeding would be sweet, although I doubt I'll come across a LCD without it. :(

What video card do you suggest for gaming at the 19" or 22" resolutions? (BF2, BF2142, Supreme Commander)

I'd get at least a 20" since they have a more common resolution. I'll suggest a few later, but i'm late for college so i gotta dash!

Right, back again.

Is this monitor going to be used for gaming more so than movie watching? If so, i'd get a TN panel monitor since they're cheap and fine gaming. What's your budget, if we're talking 20"-22"?

One more thing, what graphics card do you have now?

19" widescreen panels, in general, suck. It seems that they are, almost universally, poor quality TN's. I have been hearing that the newer TN's on the 22" panels are better. Contrast ratio is not so good.

Dell has a nice 22" that is just under $300, so if you have the money, I would spring for that one. Take my suggestion with a grain of salt as I know some about monitors, but not nearly as much as some of the guys in here.

I currently have a GMA 950. (IGP) So I have to get a video card here soon. More likely the R600 series or the 8600s or 8900s(depends on what LCD monitor I get and if I wish to sell my Wii)

Are you referring to the Dell 228 monitor?

Office max is gonna have a sale on the 225BW monitor, this weekend, you should look into it. Its a 22" and is priced at 249.99

How much worse than the 226 is the 225?

Its not that bad, but i would/am going for the 226BW, its a sweet monitor! In my opinion (i do a ton of research, 2-3hrs a night) the best, for the money monitor is the 226, although there are better monitors, they can cost twice as much for the same size, and dont preform that well

I spend the majority of my time reading up on stuff, too. The Samsung 226BW is definitely a prime contender, by i don't know if there are any better 22" monitors. I am probably going to go for the Samsung 206BW, because it should give a sharper image when gaming.

I am thinking Samsung 226BW, Sceptre 22" Gaming HDMI, Chimei 221D-NSC, and LG L226WTX-BF for 22" LCDs. Samsung and LG are practically the one in the same. Just different brand names from what I can tell. I am thinking of the whole pixel to mm size. How big would a pixel be on a 22" 1680x1050 compared to a 17" 1024x768? Would the pixel pitch(I think that is the term..) still be the same size or would the 22" screen be bigger pixelz?

22" monitors do have a larger pixel pitch than 20"; although, since i've never used either size monitor, i don't know how the difference in pixel pitch would effect sharpness.

What 22" monitor should I get? For 355$ upfront I can get a Samsung 226BW. For 270$ upfront I can get a Acer AL2216Wbd. What's the difference in quality of the picture between these? Will it be very noticeable with the Samsung?
