Total nube, learning though. Dell T7910 barebones’ish when bought. Added 4 2.5”hdd 2 3.5” drives, and a 256gb m.2 pcie adapter successfully. Or at least they show up in disk managment. Trouble is I also bought a 18tb hdd that is doing something, but not making any progress for the past 2 days.
My question is, how long does it take to be able to initialize an 18tb drive? As it’s whirling away it’s labeled only as disk, not initialized. It’s SAS like the others, sectored in 512 according to the seller, I can’t check that, or should say don’t know how to, it’s been spinning at speed for 2 days.
Still A LOT I need to do with this unit that I can’t because they require a restart. Guidance would br greatly appreciated. I respect your time and your knowledge. I spent the last 2 days digging through the internet best as I know how before I brought this nube stuff here.

Are you sure that you did not turn on encryption?
