Hi all, I am looking to nab up a Ryzen chip from MC since they're on sale. I am torn between the 1700x and 1600x.
Use Case: I mostly play games with the computer, other uses include programming, streaming and general productivity
reason for upgrading: My core system is old, I've had the same mobo/memory combo for 5 to 6 years, and have been running the 8320 for the last 4 years. Last night I hit a point while playing Forza 7 where it was still jittery/struggling to keep up even on lower settings and I don't want to lower the settings any further....
Looking at the Hard reviews. It seems that for general gaming, the 1600x and 1700x are very close, and the real performance difference would be noticed while doing encoding for media.
Will probably be picking up a ASROCK x370 Taichi to run it in.
Thanks for the feedback
