I have a 17inch lcd with a native resolution at 1280x1024. and I know how non-native resolutions make things look all blurry and pretty crappy in comparison. For instance 640x480 doesn't look too great.
What I'm wondering is, is there anyway to make it so the lcd shows 640x480 resolution by doubling the pixels and showing it as 1280x960? this way it wouldn't have to do any interpolation/scaling since it would just be double the resolution, but have small black bars on the top and bottom. I've been thinking about this since 1600x1200lcds can do this with the 800x600 res since its just double and doesn't need to do any scaling. I'm just wondering if theres a program or anything that would let me use a clear 640x480 resolution.
