160 GB Maxtor for 99.84

First time posting a Deal, but let me know what ya think...

Office Depot has a 160 GB Maxtor HD for 149.84
A $30 MIR, then apply the $20 off of $100, so it should come out to $149.84-$30-$20=99.84 plus tax....

I don't really need one right now so I haven't tried it, let me know if it works...
I know there is a 200 GB Seagate out there for $100, but some like Maxtor so....

not worth it. The 160gb maxtors are nothing but trouble, well all maxtors are nothing but trouble but the 160 is just more trouble trust me i have one.

agreed, sorta...mine just died on me after 4 months.

well its not DEAD DEAD, it just like to make this high ass pitched noises and then i bsod! wooo.

my other is going strong though *knocks on wood*
 
Yeah, the 160s are nothing but trouble. Also recently i have started not trusting maxtor, have had more of their new drives go recently than normal, I think WD is the way to go right now, either the 120, 200, or 250
 
Na, not that hot. $0.50 a gig is the sweet spot and I've seen this drive for cheaper at KompUSSR.

Wow.. I have 6 of them running my raid, and no problems with any of them :) Course, I bought them for $99 a pop about 6 months ago (globalcomputer)...

yes, thankfully its warrantied until 2007 or something like that :)

edit- nobody was discouraging him from posting deals, we are just warning the potential deal takers on our experiences.
