i just bought a Samsung TX-P2675WHD

i cant for the life of me get the correct settings so the picture is clear from my computer.

it does display the picture. and i can work in it. but fonts are all wacky. pictures like .BMP's are crystal clear, like my desktop pics etc. but everything else looks like crap.

ive got a Geforce 6600GT with dual DVI, and i have it hooked up with a DVI cable. my tv has an input for DVI.

i read the manual for the vid card and it says it will output HD on both the DVI and the component outputs

and my screen has a build in HD card. it supports 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i.

cant think of any other info you guys would need to help me out.

i went through this site:

http://www.htpcnews.com/main.php?id=hdguide

it wont work if i unplug my monitor and then plug my tv in. my tv will only work if its plugged into the secondary slot while the monitor is plugged into the primary slot and i set them up to work in dual monitor mode.

anyone know whats up with that??

i did run through all the steps though in dual monitor mode. switching the primary display back n forth in place of when he said to unplug my cables. and i did get a picture. and it did clean it up a bit. but it still had issues. i could read words on the screen, but the fonts were still hard to read, made my eyes hurt after a few seconds.

also the desktop extends beyond the range of the TV on all sides.

Try powerstrip to create a custom resolution. There are some pre-sets in this software to do this. Also, go to avsforum.com and read though there. This is the one of the best sites on the net to get info/help on HTPC systems. There is a whole forum dedicated to HTPC's. I have found alot of info there in the past.
