I just got HannsG 28 from Costco and I never knew what backlight bleed was until seeing this thing.

In a bright room with brightness set to 25 the Hardforum black background looks light gray on the left hand side.

I think I am going to return it. I am trying to decide if I want to do replacement or just go with a different monitor.

Has anyone tried the Samsung 2433BW (how is Amazon's monitor return policy)? http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2433BW-24-Inch-LCD-Monitor/dp/B001GFIMDU

Ignore (glossy seems too hard to find, just want 1920x1200): I really would like a 1920x1200 glossy, but do those even exist anymore?

From what I understand HannsG is a brand to be avoided when it comes to Displays (perhaps someone could come in and verify that).

Yes, 1920x1200 + Glossy does exist. If you don't need IPS or don't have the budget for it. The Gateway FHD2401 is a 16:10 Glossy Panel. Or if you do happen to have the budget for IPS and need glossy, the only display I know of that has this is the 24" Apple Cinema Display. Do your homework if you're looking at that though, as the only input on that display is mini-display port.

Thanks for the reply, but it seems that a good glossy is hard to find, so I will remove that as a requirement.

In my first post I mentioned the Samsung 2433bw. It is a 24" 1920x1200. Does anyone here know anything about that panel? Colors, Backlight Bleed, Viewing Angles (I mean relative to other TNs)?

I use a cheap Hanns-G at work, and it works fine. For personal use (games/movies), I would stay away.
