144hz Issue

Just got a 144hz monitor and I'm having a weird issue. If I set 144hz on desktop and launch bf3 or bf4 I get red screen and hard lock and system restarts. If I set 120hz game launches fine and the option for 144hz is available in game. But if I click apply same thing happens. If I set 120hz on desktop and in game 120hz I'm good to go. Does AMD not support 144hz or something ??? Not really complaining because the colour on this monitor is a lot better at 120hz and I'm sure I wouldn't notice a difference anyways. But, I'd like to know what the problem is. Maybe its the card, could switch them around and see if the other one works.

Amd's latest drivers are giving me issues running at 144Hz too. 13.9 and earlier drivers were fine and all 5 monitors ran at 144Hz no problem. I have reported to AMD the problem and you should too and hopefully they fix it...

honestly ill probably leave it at 120hz anyways the colour quality is so much better than the best I could get at 144hz. the colour quality on this monitor when set to 120hz smokes my old xl2420t.

First off try a different driver. If playing Bf4 beta I assume you're using 13.11 betas? Try 13.10 Wqhl or so. Amd supports it just fine, I've used 144Hz on my 5870 without issue besides the low fps...
If you can't achieve 144hz after troubleshooting you may have a defective monitor, hopefully someone else can chime in. Also make sure to try both dvi ports on both cards, just in case.
As a side note, did you try any of those ICC profiles Dutch? The lightboost part in particular is nice if you don't mind a blue hue.

I kind of want the best of both worlds so I do mind the blue hue. I want as close as I can get to good colours on this monitor with the butter smoothness of high hz. I haven't bothered to troubleshoot as I'm planning on running this monitor on 120hz anyways to get the better colours. The monitor runs on 144hz on desktop is just the instant I try to launch a game the whole system locks up and restarts. This makes me assume its the drivers or video card and not the monitor. If the monitor was faulty I could see something going wrong with the display, but it wouldn't send something back to the video card to make the pc trip out and restart.
