So I got myself a HWLabs Black Ice GT Stealth 420 radiator, one of those with a ridiculously high FPI, so static pressure would be more important than airflow. It is a 3x140mm radiator. I'm in need of some suggestions for fans (prefer performance over noise, but not overly so, would like somewhat of a balance). I will be using a fan controller, most likely one of those Sidewinder rheostat controllers, since I will be modding my case. The door on my Cosmos 1000 makes getting to the fan controller a pain, so I will be modding the top to accept two of those rheostats. I am also somewhat on a budget. I will need 4 fans, as I already have 2 Aerocool Silver Lightning fans.
I was looking at the Yate Loon D14SH-12 fans, with 140 CFM ratings. On PerformancePC's, they have a fan speed rating of 2000 RPM, while on the Yate Loon site, they have the RPM at 2800 RPM. I'm more inclined to believe it's at 2000 RPM, a site suggested that it really spun at 1800-1900 RPM, and that it also has really poor static pressure. At around $5-8 each, they're not a bad value.
Then I looked at the Koolance 140mm fan offering. It spins at 2200 RPM, has a max airflow of about 91 CFM, and a static pressure of 1.9 mm. These go for around $15 each, so for each one of these, I can get 2-3 Yate Loons.
After researching a little more, I decided to take a look again at the fans that I already have, 2 140mm Silver Lightning fans. These are supposed to spin at 1500 RPM, airflow of 73 CFM, and a static pressure of 2.05 mm. Initially, I didn't even think about these fans, because I saw 0.081 as the static pressure, which seemed really low. Then I realized it was in inches, so I found the conversion, which is approximately 2.05. It's the highest static pressure that I can find for regular 140mm fans (the Yate Loon is still an unknown). But at a cost of $16, it's the same story as the Koolance fan.
So, any suggestions on what to go with? Any advice/input would be appreciated!
Oh, and leave out the Noiseblocker fans altogether. $25 is way more than what I would like to spend on a single fan.
