1366 mount same as 1155?

I currently have a XT-1264 which has support for intel 1366,775

Also have an intel i5-2500k for intel 1155

Can I use the cooler on the i5?

1155 is compatible will 1156 mounts, but not 1366. Maybe they make an adapter for that heatsink?

thanks, cant google anything for that, closest was this about Socket 2011 to use same mounting holes as lga1366, but that;s not entirely complete/true

775 is astonishingly close to lga 1355/6, some people have squeezed on 775 mounts with an offangle backplate.

Really, you would probably be better off buying a new heatsink that is compatible then trying to buy a plate that would work, or forcing it on.

nah, don't feel rich enough to spend $30 more on a cooler when stock cooler works with 4.2+ghz... maybe later when i feel the i5-2500k isnt enough

haven't even decided to replace my current build yet(in signature) with the i5
