There are some talks about SB needing 1333 or 1600 RAM. So i was wondering if anyone has seen any reviews of these platform which show how the different RAM scale.

From all that I have seen and to quote Kyle, the difference beyond 1333 is minuscule.
But I also wanted to see what you guys have come up with and see if anyone else has seen some numbers.

The most interesting rumor floating around is that when you reach 5GHz on SB, it might need faster RAM.

So I also wanted to ask people with I7s that approach 5Ghz and 4Ghz to let us know what happens to their games/benchmarks if they throttle down the ram to lower speeds.

Here is one review

thanks!

Been wondering the same myself. I'm very eager to upgrade to this platform, actually never built a intel system before, always AMD but with this new chip coming out in a few days as well as the reviews and the raw speed (should be amazing for Wii / PS2 emulation), I figured I'd go with this over AMD this time.

The problem is, I have a general idea what memory to get, but nothing precise.Obviously my intent is to overclock, but I'm torn between:

I keep hearing that with the SB, you can't go higher than 1.5v? or atleast 1.5v mem is recommended? Also, would it be better to get 1600 and loose timings or 1333 with tighter timings?
