In PC wizard 2007, my 12V rail reads as 11.13, is that too low ?
All others read low to but not as low.
3.3 reading 3.30
5v reading 4.91
And the readings go up and down a bit which I think is normal ?
But over all could this be a bad PSU ?

How are you testing this? What PSU do you have? What is your system build?

Software isn't accurate and 11.13v your system would be unstable if it would boot.

Test it with a mulitmeter if you want to know the real readings.

1) Use hardware like an aforementioned multimeter to test a PSU, software is generally too unreliable.

2) That PSU in particular is most likely a piece of junk and you should replace it, overclocking or not.

Thank you, That sounds like what I should do.

Just seems like if I test it or not, I have had a bad feeling ever since I put this power supply in the system. So I think I will just replace it.

I only run a single video card (Will be an 8800 in future) one hard drive and one DVD burner in my system.
What is a good priced PSU to get ? What size ?

Hey RoBo the X-Clio Goodpower 500w must be a good one it's all sold out at the Egg.
Thank's for the input RoBo, that will be right in my price range when it's back in stock.

it would boot.. I once had a defective Fortron PSU that would give way too low voltage on both 5V and 12V rails.. starting at around 8V at the 12V rail and slowly raising up.. once it got to around 10.50V, my computer would start booting up..

Units that I have verified output voltages in that range (10.5-11) on the load tester fail to boot systems.

..I was right about to edit my post and add that this obviously depends on the system specs.. this was a while ago but I still remember the readings.. and my (outdated ;) ) rig would have boot somewhere around 10.50 V.. but I have a pretty shitty multimeter so in fact it might have been closer to 11V ;)

I recommend the XClio 500W Stablepower as an alternative. Its of better quality than the Goodpower.
