So do I have to plug in one GTX 285 into 12V1 and the other into a 12V2?

Or do I plug both into the permanent/non-modular 12V2 (coming out of the circle)?

You cannot overload the PSU either way. Depending on your processor, I'd probably set one up on each rail, but if you have a really hungry CPU and plan on overclocking like crazy, put both cards on +12V2.

You can't do that anyway, since each card requires two PCI-E connectors. My suggestion is to connect one card to the hard-wired cables, and connect the other to a pair of cables from the other +12V rail.

Since each rail on the HX1000 is capable, and able, to deliver 40A, or 480W, of power, I really doubt you're going to overload much by putting one card on +12V1 and the other on +12V2..............

Yeah I got my setup going the other day and put them on separate rails, thanks.
