1280x960 resolution on LCD?

Is there a way to "enable" the 1280x960 resolution on my Fuji Plus LCD? (perhaps a custom monitor.inf file?)

I know it would have a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen (if I set it to center or to maintain aspect ratio) but this would be fine.

You see, one game that I play is Freelancer, and it only runs 4:3 resolutions, and because my monitor's highest reported 4:3 resolution (via plug and play) is 1024x768 I am stuck playing at that res, when I could run 1280x960 on my old CRT.
