Is there any hope on the horizon for my dream monitor? I want a screen that's 120hz, with Displayport, and VESA mounts. Basically the new Samsungs would have been perfect except they're too thin to have mounts. I want 120hz because its brilliant (I had a Samsung 2233RZ for years before having to sell it to upgrade to triples), Displayport because its the only way to get triples with ATI (adapters are evil) and VESA mounts because I need to be able to mount the monitors to my oButto gaming cockpit.

I am fairly certain that no such monitor exists but was wondering if any of you fine folks knew of anyone planning to release such a device in the near or distant future.

I doubt there is any hope for it soon. 120hz monitors are geared towards gamers, not graphics professionals. So they all use a TN panel, have no DisplayPort, and no VESA mounts. The monitors geared towards graphics professionals are the ones that have VESA mounts, DisplayPort, and also have IPS or comparable panels. If they ever figure out a way to merge real 120hz with an IPS panel, then you would probably see it.

I've been holding out for a long time hoping it would happen but it never does :( There's a lot of action going on for display development in both TV's and small devices like smart phones, but the desktop/laptop display market seems like an afterthought.

Of the 3, pick 2 and you are good. UNLESS ASUS releases their 27" 120HZ. I am hopeful that it will be chock full of surprises. They have Displayport on a number of their better monitors.

Well, I did pick 2 of the 3, I dropped the 120hz and have three Asus VE258Qs. They're nice, but it's sad not to have 120hz after having it for years. My main form of gaming is sim racing and its nearly as crucial to have more than 60hz for that as it is for competitive FPS gaming.

If I was smarter with spacial reasoning I might try to figure out a way to strap those new Samsungs to the VESA plates I need to mount them on, but I suck at stuff like that
