What do you recommend?

Intake fans?
Exhaust fans?
Fans for CPU Cooler like Schythe Ninja?

noise is a factor, performance is a factor.

Not going for 100 % silent if it seriously limits my overclocks. Going for 2,8 gig on Opteron hopefully and 2x7800 GT in SLI with VGA Silencers...

On a fan controller that pushes lot of air in full speed but if you turn them down they still push some air while being relatively silent doing so...

I don´t want a turbo jet however.

I have heard something about Jab tech but they only have a 47 cfm rating?

Panaflo seem to pull more air while being virtually as silent?

I only use one 120mm fan, i use it for intake. it is a Panaflo, the aluminum one. i dont remember the model number. I run it at 50% power and it moves enough air to be my sole intake on my air cooled system. its very quiet as well.

I've got this fan strapped to my ninja, but I don't know if 29 dba is too loud for you. You could grab a set of their tri-cool fans with the three speed selector, and find which setting you prefer.

As for the uber-silence fans, you'll have to look at the nexus/yate loons. They don't push all that much air, so I suggest if you don't mind very slight noise moving to something with a little more kick.

Panaflo's are great fans, probably something you should look into. Stay the hell away from deltas however, unless you want a vacuum cleaner for a computer.

No kidding? I have delta fans on my PC Powerand Cooling supply. Thus the 180 seem impossible to resist. Placed at bottom, great sound insulation and a 120 mm fan preventing the delta to spinn up :D.

I will run a fan controller so I don´t desperately need the temp controlled fans even if I guess it´s pretty nice to have. Especially on the CPU I guess. Can you set the triggers yourself for when to get the fans to spin up?
