1156 mounting kits

I'm going to be upgrading to a Core i5 system soon, and would like to reuse my Xigmatek s1283 HSF. It looks like they are releasing their own version, but no one seems to have it in stock. On my current system, I'm using the Thermalright bolt-thru kit and it worked with no problems.

My question is, does any one know if the Thermal right bolt-thru kits for 1156 motherboards will work with my xigmatek hsf? It worked before with 775, so I figure it should work with 1156 the same way, but wanted to check first before I pulled the trigger and ordered.

Thanks!

I was in the same boat and decided to purchase the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ instead. It was only $25 shipped. Keeps my oc'd i5 nice & cool at 61 C full load.

I'm a little sore at Xigmatek because they never responded to my inquiry about the mounting kits. I sent them an email just a few days after the i5 launch.

Be aware of the Foxconn socket problems that Anandtech is reporting since you're buying a P55 board. Apparently Foxconn sockets are used on ALL Gigabyte, Asus, Intel boards and 50% chance on EVGA & MSI. The problem occurs at high voltage & extreme overclocks with the Foxconn socket.

I actually got in contact with Tony at Xigmatek. I bought my 1156 setup at launch and got a CM Hyper 212+ with it temporarily. I had my DK 1283 from my previous build that I wanted to use. After I got everything together, I e-mailed Xigmatek and Tony said 3 weeks before 1156 mounting kits would hit the shelves. That was almost 7 weeks ago now. I paid good money for my 1283 and wanted to use it. I found a mounting kit from NCIX in Canada. It was a shame since the shipping was as much as the kit itself :(

That was the perfect post, thanks! I really like my s1283, and really didn't want to spend any more money just to get a new cooler since mine isn't that old and works good. I went ahead and ordered a thermalright mounting kit (before I saw your post). I needed some more thermal compound, figured might as well try, it was only a few extra bucks.

Thanks everyone for your help!
