hey guys. need some advice here.

we currently use xenpak er/lr for our 10gb ring. i want to try to extend our ring to a new location of ours which is more than 30mi-40mi away.

any suggestions on where to start? i know there are xenpak zr modules, but i hear they are hard to come by. what are my other options here? DWDM?

thanks.

ZR is the logical choice (at least to me). It doesn't seem to be standardized however, but if you already have some ER modules, you apparently can replace them with ZR modules. I've never personally dealt with anything such long range however, so you may want to go on someone else's input (I've never dealt with WDM either).
