I'm kinda confused are new 21,5/22 inch monitors really 1080p or they downscale?

My work PC has a 22" Dell S2209W monitor and it's 1920x1080 and the clarity is perfect. Personally, I'd have thought a 22" was too small for 1080 after coming from a 19" that was 1280x1024 but it's just right.

Personally, I think 1920 x 1080 on a 22" screen is a bit too much. Then again maybe my eyes are starting to go bad.

If the monitor's specifications say the resolution is 1920x1080, then it will be 1920x1080. Monitor manufacturers don't seem to go through the shenanigans of trying to spout marketing bullshit (except for contrast ratios and refresh rates) to get sales. So if it says it is, it is.

I went from a Compaq 19" 1280x1024 to a Samsung P2250 1920x1080 monitor as well, and I just feel at times it's too small. I love the extra pixels. I hate how nothing seems to scale so that text is still readable from the distance I used to use my 19".

As long as it says 1080p, then yeah. A lot of times "HD" is thrown in 720p crap, and "Full HD" is saved for 1080p.

I have a 21.5" Asus that's 1080p. I use it as the monitor on my HTPC since I wanted something the same res as my HDTV so I can duplicate displays.
