I have a Dell XPS 15 with the 1080p LED display which I use for my photo editing. In my school's studio, we edit on 24" iMacs with 1080p screens. Even though they are the same resolution, I feel like the iMac has much more screen real esate such as in Photoshop or Lightroom.

Even though they are different sizes, should the same resolution allow the same screen real estate? I even have my Windows DPI set to 100%. Is it just me? Thanks!

Yes, either the UI is in different or something is differently set, but the screens display same amount of data.

They don't have the same resolution.

You apparently have the 1920x1080 version of the Dell XPS 15. The 24" iMacs almost certainly have 1920x1200 screens, so they do in fact have more screen real estate.

Woops. It was actually a 21.5" iMac. You are right about the 24" iMacs not being 1080p. It may just be my head playing tricks on my due to the physical size of the actual screen.
