Nothing makes me more happy than to have my Linux dedicated boxen go forever without a problem. I only had to do a shutdown for a move of the box. If I could have done it on a battery, I would have.

Any other happy Linux people out there?

all of my inux boxes have been up and running for just over 290 days with out issue...... I willl be adding another one to the group of three here shortly

Short of power outages... They've been going 24/7 without me even touching them. Mark me down as another happy Linux person. :D

Very happy. I have the CD to upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 burned and standing by, but I just can't bring myself to bring the box down for the upgrade. :D

I'm really glad to hear that, because I'm in the same boat here. I want to upgrade, but I just can't shut the damn thing down to do so......

So yeah... I suppose you could say I'm a happy Linux person....but I do have my Windows boxen as well....... of course, I have re-started them quite a few times recently....

I'm really ashamed of myself, with the limited hardware I have (it's almost a good thing I only have a couple of boxen, nahhh...) I'm always tweaking something and sometimes I shut down out of curiosity (to see if the NotFred's CD flash drive save was configured correctly or really worked). Booting, rebooting, swapping parts or OS's. It's in the never ending battle to get something better. (cooler runnin', better runnin' or, if I can afford it, some new "super dooper" hardware). :(

No shut downs or reboots my longest continuely runnin' boxen (WinXP WinSMP, Q6600) has probably been up less than a month (you know good ole' winders, always rebooting on updates) I have my updates thing on "notify me of updates, but don't download them until I tell ya' " or something along those lines. :D

Please don't anybody get the idea I have too much free time because "no matter what" if it concerns my cat or one of my boxen " I'm a ' gonna' make freakin' time" even if it's at the expense of other things " :p

If it wasn't for power outages, I don't even want to think of how long some of my boxen have been going. Some of them are headless and they do nothing but fold (except for a bit of network storage as I'm not going to waste a few hundred gig). Yes, each one of them is running Linux. I only have one personal boxen running Windows and it's been the least stable of all. I think I may put Linux back on it once openSUSE 11.0 is released as I had virtually no problems with it until I put Vista on it.
