Hey guys just decided to pick up an h80 for now to cool my 1055t my concern is at idle its at 45 ish C this has to be a problem??? is it not seated properly is something wrong?

its either 1 of 2 things. you used the cpu fan plug instead of the system fan plug or its not mounted correctly.. also if i remember correctly the H80 has the fan controller on the cpu block so you may want to try turning it up to the next fan setting.

yeah 62C is a bit high for an x6 at that overclock with that heatsink unless you have the fan speed set to to the lowest setting.. its not an unsafe temp or anything but it should be in the mid 50's unless your ambient temp is really high.

I wonder if im still have problem with it making full contact.... the fans are cranked...

did you scrape off that crap that came pre-applied or are you still using that? also what fan header are you using or do you have it directly plugged into the 4 pin molex connector on the psu?

yeah I scraped the crap off using some thermal compound from best buy... I have the 2 120mm plug going into the little all in one unit... should i run them straight into 4 pin molex?

nvm its all correct, didn't realize they got rid of the fan power connector and replaced it with a molex connector. so in that case my only guess is that its still not seated correctly for some reason.. you could try messing around with the fans. either try having them as exhaust or intake and see what happens.

Yeah I have them sucking from inside the case right now... going to try to reseat once again... im at 41c idle right now feels way to high...

well I think i've figured most of it out... My POS thermaltake v8 case doesnt really work with the h80 it puts the tubes in a bind, and kinda lifts the waterblock to one side... rigged it up for now and got 30c @ idle 59c with prime 95 going....... time to mod the h80 and get a new case!
