Hello all -- im new to the world of dual core CPUs, and im starting to overclock my 4200+ X2, my question is since im folding i need 100% stability, but prime95 is only a single-treaded application. How do i test 100% dual core usage and know there are no "errors" like prime (might) spit out?

I need a dual core stress test that will let me know if its okay to fold on my X2 rig

thanks in advance
jeff

You can run two prime95s. I've seen that done, and done it myself a few times on my xeon rig. If you want then you can go into the Task Mangarer under process and set the affinity of the program to which core you want. It's great to see you worried about if your computer is 100% stable. We don't want to send back hundreds of bad wus that stopped early from a messed up oc.

Maybe this thread should be moved to the oc section and the members there might be able to more fully answer your questions because I'm sure there are a lot of X2 owners there.

Worth a note, too: I know from a little experience that Prime95 stable isn't necessarily F@H stable.. keep an eye on your logs for a while to make sure everything is being completed correctly. If you have a 600 point WU starting tonight, and wake up tomorrow and see a random 200-some pointer a quarter the way through, you know somethings up
