$100 price range digi cam?

My girlfriend has asked me to recomend her a 100$-200$ digital camera as she does not have a digicam yet. I am not farmiliar with the "lower end" range of cameras so anny advice or recomendations would be greatly appreciated. I know that with the lower priced cameras one has to worry about quality, so any suggestions on what brands to avoid or look into would be very helpful.
