I need a $100 Nvidia card, is the 460 the best option?

Is it possible or should I be aiming lower? I mainly play BF2 and need an Nvidia card because I'm on Ubuntu and really have messed with the ATI/AMD cards way too much to want to waste more time when problems arise.

Depends on the resolution which you are gaming at. For 1680x1050 it would be ok. For 1920x1080 a GTX 460 1GB for $130 AR might be the better choice.

Do note that according to user reports, the quality of the NVidia Linux driver has been going downhill lately.

I'm at 2560x1600. But I scale it down for performance.

I don't mind buying second hand, thanks for the hint!
