10 Million Point Challenge

30th for Denis!

Next one: cosmology but their server is out of disk space. Anyway I'll do SPT till I hit 1M first.

CPDN is my #33 project now. I should be able to hit the 10M mark on Gaia and wuprop soon.

I've got a ways to go still.

WUprop makes it to #34 and Gaia for #35. The list of projects for 10M is getting less and less. 35 10M projects puts me at #18 in Free-DC stat right now.

I guess time to crunch Natalia Makarova's projects (ODLK, LatinSquare and SPT). Wonder why I left out this projects for so long 🤔

low point awards and a terrible scientist/person....

It certainly is a slow grind

That's why I try to run these as the last resort. Anyway, just going after my personal goals since there aren't many projects left. I've to think if I should just focus on a few projects that are worthwhile running or aim for 100M project milestone which is going to take a long long time.

Well...as systems get faster and projects limp along...I'm sure you will get there.

LatinSquares (ODLK1) gets me to 36th 10M project milestone.

This project doesn't stress the cpus much unlike PG LLR, so they run cool and seep less power . Maybe I'll go a bit longer and keep our top spot in BG team marathons standing. Trying to stay ahead of GridCoin team.

ODLK2025 makes it 38th project for me.

Finally all the diagonal latin square (DLS) related projects have reached 10M milestone (ODLK, LatinSquare, ODLK2025 and RakeSearch). Did I miss out any other active DLS related projects?

none that are still active

LHC@Home gets me to 39th.

Currently there are plenty of Atlas tasks. Run native apps if you can since it uses less memory than the default vbox.

I prefer running Xtrack first but has no work for more than a month already.

BOINC Central gets me to 40th. Next 10M project: Spacious.

Spacious gets me to 41st (excluding Axiom). Currently ranks #9 in the world for the most number of BOINC projects with 10M milestone.

Looks like the only one project left for 10M is YAFU which has consistent work. LHCdev has limited work. Maybe I'll give that a try after YAFU. After that, I don't know what to do 🤔.
100M milestone would require 10 times the effort and not to mention the power consumption also. This will take many many years with my existing hardware, most likely I would not do this but perhaps focus on a few worthy projects....

YAFU finally gets me to 42nd after so many years. I'm going to do a little bit of LHCdev from time to time. Currently only CMS seems to have tasks but requires virtualbox :( which gobbles up memory. Theory has sparse work units and requires docker.
After LHCDev which likely to take months to reach 10M, there is no more BOINC projects to chase. Sadly, this will be the end of it unless new one comes up.
