Where can I find small lcd screens less than 10". Not a whole lcd monitor or TV just the screen without an enclosure. I need for a Portable pc mod

Oh, and a small keyboard too

I just wrote up the plans and the way I made it, its a 7.5" screen

I have a 9" lcd with a controller I can sell you.

No thanks, I just need the bare screen

Yea its a bare screen but also has a controller card that you hook up to the computer via the PCI bus.

EarthLCDs usually sells LCDs with no controllers, and that means you will not be able to use them unless you have a controller specifically for their LCD...

I suppose that means I'll need a controler. I could go for a pda screen, that'd clear up my problem with the mouse device

I've got No knowlage, no money, forget it. Ok, forget the touch screen part, I need a 7" preferably widescreen lcd with a controler. This is all so expensive. Isn't there somwhere I can buy a cheap one??

a PS1 lcd would probably be good, then rip off the casing. No controller needed for those. As for the PDA idea... if you get a cheap pocket pc with a color touch screen, there is a program that will allow your desktop to be expanded onto the pda screen (it's called "sidewindow"). As for having it be your primary screen, i don't know if it'll work. A pda has a tiny screen too.

If you can get your hands on a PSOne LCD, BitTech had a great article on modding it for either VGA or component in (TV Out on your video card).

try the ps2 screens from ebay.

You got the title wrong. >10" means greater than 10". <10" means less than.

These are made for working with PC's. Some of the other LCD's you run across have problems with settings, and everything looks terrible.

The next two are pre-made and take up (3) 5.25'' bays on a desktop.

None of the shown or mentioned LCDs so far have been widescreen, other than someone's suggestion for the ones they sell on ebay. Last time I searched for an LCD, they had ones around $100 that were widescreen. Note that they are either composite or s-video in, so you will not really be able to use it as a primary monitor because the text will be slightly blurry in most cases, even at low resolutions.

Don't think it was widescreen, but I was in Target the other day (unusual for me), and noticed they had 7" lcd "add-on" screens, with rca inputs, for ~$75 to $80. They're designed to be used with portable dvd players that either need an additional screen, or a replacement screen, but with those inputs, could be used for a computer mod.

As far as the keyboard goes, if you want truly tiny, check out pc gate. Not cheap, at $23.95 + shipping (think shipping brought it up to ~$30), but it's the tiniest I've ever found.
Keyboard Dimension: 222x103x16mm (LxWxH)
That's just over 9" long x 4.2" wide (top to bottom) x ~5/8" thick. Super tiny!! :D

I couldn't find anu add ons--but look here I'll just have a portable player with out a screen leftover, but fine

Eh, i hope it's easy to take the LCD off that thing. I don't think you'd be saving too much money over buying an LCD by itself... a dvd player without the display isn't worth a whole lot. I think you should just buy a cheap LCD unit with the connectors all nice and ready.
