IBM is celebrating 10 chip breakthroughs in 10 years and, while this is a press release from IBM themselves, it is a rather interesting follow-up to the story we posted yesterday.

IBM scientists have continued to drive performance improvements to continue the path of Moore’s Law. Ten of IBM’s biggest chip breakthroughs chosen from the dozens of innovations coming from IBM’s labs in the past ten years include: Copper, SOI, Strained Silicon, Dual-Core Microprocessors, Immersion Lithography, Frozen SiGe Chip, High-k, eDRAM, 3-D Chip Stacking and Airgap.
