**The operating system used is Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit edition.
Problem: I currently have two computers a) Desktop and b) SFF. I only use the SFF when I go home or for gaming events as the Desktop is WAY to heavy to carry around. The problem is that with the SFF I have to constantly let it update games, patches, and everything else for a number of hours (2 or more) before its ready to be used. With everything else pretty much a pickup and go for the SFF this is getting to be a bit annoying.
Proposed Solution: Using one hot swappable sata HD for both computers. I plan on Installing drivers from both computers on one HD and then before I leave putting said HD from Desktop to SFF.
Unknowns: I'm unsure if this will cause issues since the hardware is radically different between the Desktop and the SFF (specs found in sig.) The times that I have moved one HD from one computer to another things have worked out (Windows XP) although the first boot is normally a big sluggish and requires driver downloads obviously. I've never attempted this on a regular basis or attempted process again after installing drivers for the second computer and then moving HD again. Googling has only revealed a Ubuntu post on the issue with little information.
Anybody with any prior knowledge preferably with Vista as the OS used? Discuss.
