I have a Canon Powershot SD100 that works perfectly, except for the LCD screen. Is it possible to find a replacement screen and install it myself? Anyone have any experience with something like this? Just looking for information, thanks.
No this camera doesn't have any warranty left. My father purchased it for me and got one of the "extended warranties" that Circuit City offers, but he wasn't able to get the camera fixed or replace through them. It's really too bad because I told him not to get the extended warranty in the first place.
I've since bought a Powershot SD200, but I'd like to see if I could do the LCD replacement on this one if possible. I hadn't thought about looking for one from Ebay, but do they sell broken ones with an LCD that works? I don't see anywhere on Canon's site where you could order parts, and the Canon warranty center near me doesn't do any actual work, they just send the camera into Canon.
I imagine I need to find someone who is a technician for Canon and can get their hands on a parts list or service manual for this camera.
