I recently started playing around with diffrent HTPC cases and Heatsinks and noticed my CPU temps are ridiculously high. But from feeling the heatsink they dont seem that high. I am in the process of setting up thermistor to measure but was cusious as to normal temps on this CPU when overclocked.
While runing a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu at low speed in the antec overture that was modified for optimal cooling I Idle at 50c and load with prime 95 at 64c. If i turn the fan to high I only see a 2c drop. When running stock 1.6 In the modified overture with the zalman at low I Idle at 48c and load at 62c..... Case temp is about 32c. In a old desktop case I had I think I had 48c idle at 2.4GHz
But feeling around the base of the heatsink it isnt hot to the touch it's just a bit warm...... Which is starting to make me think a bit more on my actual temps. I have another Normal HTPC case the lascala lc03 from silverstonetech coming my way and I am going to test temps in there as well.
