I have a 6800Ultra that I want to run at 1.5V for core/memory... would I run into any problems?
I already have an excellent aftermarket cooler on it that I can run completely passive and get lower than stock temps at it's current +0.1V!

Also, is there any place that I can pick up a 1.5V 6800U bios, or is there any type of utility that will let me modify an existing one?

Look for the link to a website with modified voltages on the first post of this thread:

Edit: I just realized that the BIOS with the 1.5 V is for a GT card. If you want to make your own BIOS, use this program: OmniExtremeEdit

go here for some 1.5v bios from a fellow [H]er, or you can edit the original yourself using "omniextreme" or something like that, all my benchmarks are done at 1.5v

What is the aftermarket cooler you are using, out of interest and can you give some examples of temperatures before and after? I have been wanting to volt mod my Ultra, but would like to soup up the cooling if possible.

I'm using the Zalman ZM80D-HP, and while it is only MEANT for Radeons and GeForce FXs, with a little bit of simple modding it seems to be working better than even a VGA Silencer

Cheers - I've spent a little while on and off this afternoon looking for air coolers for the 6800U, without much luck. The one you've linked certainly looks the business and I've seen an additional 'official' fan mouting you can bolt on to it.

How 'simple' were the simple mods you made? You don't have to drill holes in the board or something do you?

Nope, the only mods you have to do is to use your head rather than the manual.
The backplate needs to be raised a bit, and the supplied screws don't go all the way through to the rear like it's supposed to, so you just put two that screw to a bolt, attach the back-plate seperately, and then cap off the screws for the core-side with bolts to raise the back-plate up, it's not that difficult, and if you don't quite get what I'm saying here, you'll know EXACTLY what to do when you see why it's not compatible in it's stock format.
