Isn’t there a way that Amazon could limit product reviews to verified purchasers?

Amazon’s steps follow an earlier action taken in April, when Amazon sued several websites that sold fake customer reviews. Amazon gives anyone, whether they are customers or not, the ability to review products sold on its online store. Fake reviews -- positive or negative -- undermines Amazon’s goal of making sure that customers have the information they need to shop on the store, the company said.

Companies can buy the product for the reviewer, shill the review, and there's no need to actually ship it. It basically only costs the company the listing fees and chinese wages.

They should ban their Vine sponsored reviews too. Seems like they're always positively biased/conflict of interest.

Fake reviews on Amazon are rampant. 1100 is just a scratch.

This is the truth. Many (all?) of these Amazon review companies have you send enough to pay to purchase the product, plus whatever fee they charge. This results in the review showing up as an Amazon verified purchase despite the fact that it was purchased.

I made the suggestion many, many times to make a system that requires a code or number from the receipt to leave reviews. Amazon, Yelp, Target, etc, etc.

Look for facts or accurate statements in reviews disregard any opinions and you wont have much of a problem with fake reviews.
