The creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games announced today that BioShock Infinite is being delayed one month to make sure it is "100% the game our fans deserve".

Work on the game is now down to final polish and bugfixing. In order to give the team a few more weeks of this polish, the release date of BioShock Infinite is March 26th. We know that this is going to ruffle some feathers. But we’re willing to take the heat to make sure that BioShock Infinite is 100% the game our fans deserve.

I have way more games than I can play right now and the Steam Winter sale is only a couple of weeks away ... I'd rather they delay and release a better game than launch an incomplete product on schedule ... besides the pcgamer previews they posted today on their website are still looking really promising ;)

I get the feeling that since dishonored popped up on the radar the people working on infinite had an oh shit moment and are desperately trying to make their product competitive at the last minute.

After playing MOH Modern Warfighter I'm glad to see that someone is not rushing a game out the door before it's ready just to make a quick buck.

I think story based shooters are tougher to balance out ... they are more like editing a movie ... how do they maintain depth of story without sacrificing pace and action ... the new Bioshock is also a very different combat environment from the previous two games (lots more mobility and larger open combat areas) ... I am glad they continue to tweak since it means they actually care whether their game is good ... if they didn't care they would just push it out the door and patch it later ;)

I mean...hopefully this will result in a well-polished release title. :D

I want to say one of the Batman games (Arkham Asylum or Arkham City, I can't remember which) was given this same approach, and honestly, it was a very good move. I would rather the developer put out a solid product rather than some bugged out, exploit-riddled, crap-looking pile of garbage and call it a game.

I was looking forward to February for this game to break up the winter some.

The first Bioshock has a bunch of patches if I recall and made alot of people unhappy at the release when it didn't work correctly.......FOV was screwy for one.

So I guess delays are fine if the product is polished.:D

I'm actually use to more "it's done when it's done" and I actually prefer that rather than moving targets.

Hopefully this is the last delay. One or even two delays are ok but after awhile people start questioning the health and quality of the game.

You can fix the entire story of a game and create a sequel to a game that had a story which didn't need a squeal in the first, in a month? That is counting from Bioshock and not even counting 2 which would fall in the same boat as this game.

Yeah for some reason the delays don't pass the smell test for me. I honestly believe the delays are due to market timiing. They don't want to compete with any other games.

Come to think of it, isn't Crysis 3 being released in February?

To be honest, I'm looking forward to Infinite, I won't even be buying crysis3.

Literally stopped giving a crap about this game

Feminists have taken complete control of this title, getting their greasy claws into everything from Elizabeths character design, to her lines, the way she says them and other stuff.

First 100% fully designed feminist videogame, and I will have -ZERO- part of it, Ken Levine can die in a fucking fire for listening to a section of people who -DON'T EVEN PLAY VIDEOGAMES- because they believe all videogames are created "By the patriarchy" and won't play them regardless.

Its a sad fucking day when I have to turn to the japanese developers again to get games that are -LARGER THEN LIFE- instead of trying to be a fucking political commentary by a group of people who can't even decide what brand of toilet paper is the least Cisprivlidged

Even more fucking annoying is these group of fucking retard feminists bitch about Elizabeths "Boobs being too big" and "She's sexist by design" when -NONE- of these fucking idiots had a problem with Jack Sparrow in all the 4 pirates films having perfect skin, -ALL- his perfect teeth, -ALL- his perfectly done hair and even -ALL- his fingernails despite living an entire life at sea drinking nothing but rum day after day.

I mean, -THAT'S- not sexist? He looks nothing like a real pirate, yet, they don't have a single problem with a man being a sexual icon. Why should they though? They believe men can't be sexually exploited in the media, only woman can

Here's a fun game, show me the last time a semi-fat or even fat man was in a porno that wasn't Ron Jeremy, but remember, porn's only sexist to women not men!

Also last post, Elizabeth's 4th clothing redesign existed in the late 1910's, but it didn't look -ANYWHERE- near that masculine, at that, that only became a girls outfits in the -LATE- 1920's, and only for a short time at that, by the 1940-50's it had been phased out completely.

Even -THEN- most if not all girls wore a heavy dress, long apron and a thick shawl most of the time during the 1920-40's because of poverty between WW1 and WW2, and thus everyone kept bundled at all times. The "Sailor" outfit was only for rich prep schools, and again, only established greatly in the mid 1920's, it wasn't even around in the 1890's period.

So this game can't even get its time period apparel right anymore, just to please some feminists

*slow golf clap*

um link to any of the shit you talking about
i havent heard any of that

Where do you get this stuff?

Not quite the same. Batman Arkham City received a lot of time on "polish" but it was never delayed but ahead of schedule.

So you don't know if in this case whether or not it is actually for "polish" reasons or development problems.

Did you see the Dishonored developers talking about what huge fans of the Bioshock series they were at E3? I was watching the Dishonored preview footage and I was like "Wow, what biters, they sure did a lot of copying". After completing Dishonored I felt like I played a cheap imitation of the real thing.

The whole game changed after the feminsts from Anita Sarkinson went after this game like a rabid wolverine

After Ken Levine reveled Mark 2 design of Elizabeth for the 15 minute Bioshock Infinite trailer, they flipped entirely and went after Irrational Games bigtime

This prompted the first change to Elizabeth, into the Mark 3 design where they greatly reduced her chest, hips, everything, made her look more like a 14 year old schoolgirl along with Ken Levine dropping the line of "We want the game to matter more about the story and not want to save her cause she's pretty etc"

This STILL wasn't enough, and Anita's feminists kept whining and crying she was still dressed too revealing etc, and started demanding they change the outfit based on clothing designs that existed back then, but were rarely used

So while they worked on the Mark 4 design, all this damage from the feminists being listened too by Ken Levine has caused so much infighting among the games staff that developers and directors have been quitting the game en mass because Ken Levine keeps changing everything on them every five minutes to try and please a group of irrational people, and has even started changing Elizabeth's storyline to make her a "Stronger person" etc.

Then today they revealed the Mark 4 design, where Elizabeth now looks like a 12 year old wearing a -BOYS- sailor school outfit, -NOT- a girls outfit, and now literally everyone in the know of this whole games development has sworn off buying it cause Ken Levine is trying to please a group of people that -ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE-

Now excuse me, I need to play some Lolipop Chainsaw, where sexy woman are a trope and -NOT- a "commentary" about how "All sexy woman in videogames are only sexy cause they are designed by the sexist patriarchy" and are sexy -FOR FUN!-

Also FYI repeating Bioshock 2 where you spend the entire game going to save a child, vs this game where you have gone from saving a love interest to now saving a child, *golf clap* way to recycle stories

Also reports coming in from feminists over the Mark 4 revision, that "Its still sexist! The game the story is about a little girl who can't do anything without a man's help!"

I -TOLD- you even with more changes Elizabeth they wouldn't have fucking cared! You can never please a feminist. Ken Levine killed his own project to please a group of impossible to please people.

Again.... *Slow golf clap*

Did a little search online, turns out Anita Sarkinson is the woman behind Feminist Frequency and they are all about sexism in video games or something like that, targeting video games.

I keep hoping @IrrationalGames will fix Elizabeth's outfit in Bioshock Infinite. Here's some 1912 fashion inspiration http:///WuS5pX

Why Irrational Games should care about them is beyond me.

Yep, she got almost $160 grand from a kickstarter campaign. Funny how a feminist that is supposed to be all about bettering women and such won't use the money for women in other parts of the world, but will make some useless youtube vids where she completely misses the point that video games like other media is a fantasy where everyone is attractive.
