Rahnter, that looks a lot like what my chip's capable of. Does your mobo bios support none 16.5 mutiplyer for turbo-core? I was able to get a little bit higher unboosted speed by upping the HT and changing the mutiplyers. I couldn't get all 6 cores stable at 3.7ghz with stock hsf.

Load temps show core temps around 52c

Yeah it supports 16.5 multi for turbo. Haven't tried ocing without turbo enabled yet, maybe this weekend. I'll probably be limited with the beta bios I'm using.
 
Finally got the 1055T replacement from TigerDirect yesterday morning and was able to put it all back together. Tried to get it over 4GHz with the default turbo voltage, but it kept failing so I tweaked it a bit and got the results below. This build is for a client, but I may keep this if the other 1055T I just bought is not as good.

i call it strategic advantage :p......naw, i am not planning on upgrading this rig, CPU/Mobo wise, for ~3 years hopefully , so why not get the best

Okay so far I have the following:

Processor: 1055T
Motherboard: Gigabyte 870A-UD3 (F1 BIOS)
Speed: 3.5GHz
HT Ref Speed: 250

That is it, I have not tweaked voltages or any other numbers just upped the Ref speed in BIOS after I dfisabled Turbo Core.

This think is rock solid and in a Three Hundred case with stock AMD cooling it is only at 44C per core under load.

The stock cooling is noisey as hell but the system is running all fans at low on the case, has 2 tri-cool 120 in the front.
 
So I don't know if this is just my mobo (Gigabyte MA790GPT-UD3H), but it reads the stock voltage as 1.40v. So when I disabled Turbo Core, the core voltage is still 1.4v, which is MUCH higher than I think it should be.

Anyway, right now I'm at 270x13.5 = 3645 @ 1.325v. I was playing around with what booted and I could boot into 285x14=4004 @ 1.425v, but it would explode when I tried to start up Prime.

Oh, and my board has a very clear HT Link wall at ~2500mhz, which is a trend I'm seeing in other Gigabyte boards.
 
Does anyone know if DDR3 2000 would make a significant improvement over the DDR3 1600 if one would overclock the 1055T to about 4GHZ?

it probably wont, my 1090T @4.0 i cant tell the difference between 1333, and 1600....in synthetic benchies it will show a difference though

Note: I didn't do full stress test because I plan to do some more OC tomorrow with new heatsink - Tuniq 120 Extreme. So far, my 1090T is rock stable with this settings through out many application + gaming that I have done so far.

I couldn't do 4.3 Ghz+. I kept pushing up to 1.55 vcore, and still crashing within 30 minutes of OCCT. Max load temp was around 54C. I decided not to go past 1.55 vcore just yet. :D

What are you 1090T's doing in here? This is a thread for 1055T's who are stuck with a low multi. A database of info to see what they can do would be nice and what is limiting them. Don't clutter it up.

because its good to compare the 1055T and the 1090T to see how well the overclock against each other.. also gives you idea of what to shoot for to see if you can match a 1090T..

because people like you will bitch, and make a post that clutters the thread up even more than honest OC recults on a Thuban chip.....

anyhow, will edit this post later today with my better overclock(cleaned my filters and got a 5 C drop in chip temps ;) )
 
It's not a bad idea to us 1090T's here for comparsion since the 1055T's look like they are able to hang in there.Not that many of us here anyways.:D
 
I am going to build my overclocked 1055T machine very soon. DDR3 is the only component left to buy.

Fry's is selling Kingston Hyperx 2000 for $119/4GB. Should I buy that or should I opt for a little cheaper Corsair DDR3 1600?
 
DDR3 1600....no way in hell you will use 2000 speed ram to its potential, hell even 1333 ram would be great......the official spec for running ram speed on Phenom II is 1333(its the max listed speed from AMD), however, getting 1600 will give you overclocking headroom, get the 1600, dont waste money on 2000 speed
