Thanks for the reply!
The latency on those is 15 rather than 14, which I think explains the price difference. I am not totally up to speed on DDR4 speeds and latency, but should I spend the extra 40 bucks for 1 less latency?
Hi,
Been 4 years since I've built a system and I want to refresh the system. Here is the PC Hound Parts List:

Thank you so much for taking the time to help out!
One final question: the SSD
I've been trying to read up reviews on SSDs and from what I read it seems the deciding difference between the Samsung, OCZ, Crucial and Plextor is price? Would you agree? Other than that is there a real reason to...
Thanks for the fast response! Here are answers to your questions:
I was not planning on trying to push for every ounce of extra performance from the CPU, but if I can easily push the CPU without much trouble then I'll go for it. That said, I think the 3470 + MSI board sounds like the way to...

I had the same issue with my Dell 2707.. I changed the cable, installed the hotfix drivers and updated vista and one of those three things fixed it.
Sorry not much help, but it was annoying :(
Hey so I have been reading all these threads and getting a little overwhelmed. I currently have a Dell 2707fpw and love it. All I do is web design and I miss having dual monitors, unfortunately a second 2707fpw won't fit on my desk. So I am looking at two 24" monitors. I don't play games on my...
:P
What's your back end? Are you keeping a database of the autos or using some other method?
If I understand you right, you want to have a database of autos have a page where you can query them up and sort or filter based on some basic items and then have the ability to click on an...
Fed up with current machine and really want to upgrade. I was going to try to wait, but I have been waiting since Christmas.
I have a Dell 2707 27" monitor, love it and want to be able to play Supreme Command and WoW in all their glory (read: with as many settings set to full or max and at...
Basically does anyone know of any HTML editor that has a built in SFTP client, other than Dreamweaver? Got to try out Expression Web, but it doesn't have SFTP.
Thanks
Hehe yeah before I build a new system I'd use the spreadsheet to watch prices instead of writing them down over and over.
Is your php page public? Or is there a way I could take a look at it? ;)
Here you go!

Why is it pointless?
If two servers were constantly talking to each other, could you not run like a 2GB FC between them for a fast network? and save yourself the cost of a switch to handle it?
I have no idea lol
If you have identical FC cards in two machines, can you plug a FC cable into one and right into the other?
Sorry trying to learn more about FC just for the heck of it and didn't know if this is possible.
Absolutely! Wide screen rocks.
Anyway I went from a 20" widescreen (which I would not recommend for the above reasons) to a 27" widescreen, which I love. Every inch rocks.
Interesting... would have thought it would scratch the screen. It does contain an abrasive, because I know you can't use it on wood, it will take the finish right off.
Right from their website:
Not recommended for use on surfaces that are polished/glossy, or on brushed, satin, dark, or faux...
So I am looking to get a new LCD to hook my PS3/x360 to, and it would be nice if I could get my PC plugged in to it as well. Hoping to spend less than $1500 (before shipping and tax). I wanted to get something that is 1080p so I can plug my ps3 into and and actually get true 1080p.
Does anyone...
OK thanks for the info so far.
No I will not be overclocking. I am looking for a very stable machine.
So I guess whether I upgrade or not is definitely dependent on this: Would my current video card even be able to run the 27" monitor?
If not what would be better for the 27" monitor...
So I am thinking about upgrading my computer. My only concern is I'm just wondering how much of a performance increase will I see, and whether or not this is even worth it.
I use my computer to do a lot of database work and play games. So what do you guys think?
Here is what I have right now...
Yea maybe the lenovo isn't as flashy as the others, but they are the best. Solid notebook, doesn't feel like it will fall apart at the hindges. About the build quality, when lenovo took over people claim the build quality went down. I have two T43s, one from last summer and one from the...
ok basically they have cut costs and used a bit more plastic and changed a button?
Well I love mine! the keyboard rocks, everything works very well, the software that comes with it is great, the top feels strong enough to last for a while and the battery life... ooo the battery life... I love...
I have two T43s, both from china, got one last summer and another beginning of this year. I have had no problems with either of them. The quality is incredible. I'm not sure how you see the quality degrading, mind giving us some examples? Last I checked the materials all seem to be the same as...
I believe some of the newer models of the x-fi series come with a heatsink, it's not a big deal, just something to help dissipate heat....
as to bending the capacitor, that shouldn't be a problem. just don't bend it over and over so it falls of.
how about some nice headphones or a sweet audio setup?
or what about a new widescreen monitor?
or how about you contribute to my "HelpMeGetANintendoRevolutionIfTheyDon'tSuck Fund"
Anyone ever bought from these guys?

or do you know anyplace with low priced DVD cases and DVD-Rs?
*not sure where to put this, didn't fit to many other places*
uhh you just picked which one you liked better. Anyones guess? There is a difference
On normal TV, which is what I think most people use them for, the LCD at larger sizes will looked blurred and more pixelated (sp?). The plasma will not have to deal with that.
here's my break down
SED looks wonderful, sounds good... but not out yet (so this is out)
Plasma, LCD or CRT, maybe DLP?
For me I hear this little annoying buzz from plasmas and it drives me nuts. Supposadly it is beacuase at alltidue they do that, I don't know. If I wanted something over...
